These findings, confirmed by the Economic Policy Institute (EPI), were compounded by the fact that the McCain health care plan would amount to a tax increase for middle class families in New Hampshire, with the average family paying almost $700 more in taxes by 2013.

There has been a 16% increase in the number of uninsured in New Hampshire alone during the past year. A recent poll of Democratic and Republican likely primary voters in the state showed 62% of respondents identified health care as one their top two priorities, compared to 58% on Iraq.
